We joined the Torch Run in Edmundston!
A number of Region 2 members came out on Saturday to support Club VTT Nord-Ouest (Club 55, Region 1) with their annual Torch Run.
The run started at the club garage with well over 200+ Members and guests participating in the festivities. The weather cooperated with temperatures hovering around -6C and only getting slightly chillier for the evening portion of the run and bonfire that followed.
The group took an extended supper stop early in the run at the large food court facility near the Grey Rock Casino, a location that is listed as a great stop when travelling on the Northern Quad Route (see link). After supper and after the sun set, the group continued the ride through kilometres of wooded trails.
For those who have not participated in a “night” run, we highly recommend you join one. There is something to be said for driving along the trails and seeing ATV’s lighting up the night.
In the last few kilometres of the run, volunteers from Club 55 treated us with 100+ fire torches lining the trail to our final destination … a giant bonfire. At this location, we enjoyed hot drinks as well as some tasty eats from a hotdog vendor. The evening was completed with a prize giveaway and a firework show.
A huge thank you to all the ATV enthusiasts, volunteers, and sponsors who helped make this event a great success. We look forward to supporting your club at a future event.
It was my first time doing an evening run and it was amazing. I will definitely do this again!
